Experience the spectacular musicianship of the Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Ettore Chuidioni in A Holiday Prelude.

The Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra is made up of North-Central Ohio's finest musicians, primarily in high school from Richland, Crawford, Hancock, Seneca, Wyandot, Wayne, Knox, Huron, Marion, Holmes, Sandusky, and Ashland counties. The MSYO is the only youth orchestra within a 65 mile radius of Mansfield. Nearly 100% of its members study privately. There are approximately 90 members each season.

The Orchestra rehearses Monday evenings (September through November, and January through April) 7:00-9:00 PM at Malabar Middle School in Mansfield. Two concerts are scheduled each year at the historic Renaissance Theatre.

Mr. Chiudioni is beginning his twenty-second year as conductor of the Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra.  He retired in 1990 after 32 years as a high school orchestra/band director: six years in the Crestline City Schools and twenty-six years in the Mansfield City Schools.  He conducts orchestra and band clinics and workshops throughout the state and has served as an adjudicator for concerto competitions at various schools of music. He continues to serve as an OMEA Adjudicator for State Orchestra, as well as Strings and Brass Solo and Ensemble Adjudicated Events.

Mr. Chiudioni is in his fifty-fifth year as principal trumpet with the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra and has appeared as soloist with the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, the Firelands Symphony, the Alliance Symphony and  with area high school orchestras and bands. He serves as principal trumpet with the Renaissance Brass Quintet and the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra's Outreach Brass Trio.

Mr. Chiudioni graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Ohio University where he studied trumpet with William Brophy.  He also graduated Cum Laude with a Masters of Arts Degree from the Ohio State University.  During his four years at Ohio University, he was the featured soloist with the University Bands and was a member of the University Symphony Orchestra and Brass Choir.

Mr. Chiudioni is a private trumpet instructor in Mansfield. Many of his students have been members of the Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra, the East-Central Region Orchestra, the OMEA All-State Orchestra and the OMEA All-State Band.  Several of his former students are now pursuing careers in music performance and music education.

Mr. Chiudioni has served as Secretary-Treasurer of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 159, AFM for over thirty-five years.  He is married to Joan Chiudioni, a violinist with the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra.
