Symphony League
In 1911, Igor Stravinsky first arranged a "Suite" from his ballet L'oiseau de feu: The Firebird. On February 19, 2011, one hundred years later, we will play you its "Berceuse and Finale". And, it will only cost us about $21,274 to do it! Inflation aside, we are happy to perform Stravinsky's classic for you. But we certainly cannot do it without you.
Like many nonprofit orchestras in the United States, the Mansfield Symphony's ticket revenue comprises only 30% of its total annual income. Our programming relies heavily on contributed revenue, and that number has dropped an average of 7% each year since 2007. As we embark upon the next chapter of the Mansfield Symphony's rich history, we need your support more than ever.
Now is the time to define your own vision for the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra. Over the next year, you will have the opportunity to give us input on several important issues, including "the big one": Who will you choose to lead the Mansfield Symphony to even greater heights? The decision is yours, and the answer to that question starts here, with your contribution. It is only through your support that we can conduct a search capable of bringing us someone to lead the Symphony ever onward and upward.
The 2010-2011 season saw the end of an era. Now, we move onto a new era; not only bigger and better, but one that reflects what you want from your symphony. Your participation in this task will truly define our future. Your past support of the Mansfield Symphony is greatly appreciated, and we ask you to consider a gift this year.
We're here, and we're listening - don't go unheard at this critical time.
