This unique 2012-2013 Season and beyond giving program helps underwrite and sustain the cost of members of the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra (MSO) by personally supporting the MSO Maestro/Music Director, MSO Concert Master, MSO Principal Chairs, MSO Section Chairs, and MSO Section Members. Annual payment plans are available. This will be kicked off in the 2012-2013 season with our new Maestro/Music Director.

The MSO sponsors will receive all of the Ren's Friends' Annual Gifts Benefits and Sponsor Benefits as well as recognition on the Renaissance Annual Donor Recognition Board in the lobby.

*THE NEOS DANCE THEATRE DANCER SPONSOR PROGRAM:

With an annual gift of $2,500 to $10,000 you can sponsor an individual dancer of the Ren's international Neos Dance Theatre Company and receive all of the Ren's Friends' Annual Gifts Benefits for that gift level as well as recognition on the Renaissance Annual Donor Recognition Board in the lobby plus:

  • Two season tickets to each of the Neos Dance Theatre's performances at the Renaissance
  • An autographed framed photo with the sponsor and sponsored dancer
  • A Neos Dance Theatre's Plaque with their name on an engraved brass plate
  • A personal "Meet and Greet" with the sponsored dancer after each performance of the Neos Dance Theatre at the Renaissance

*THE MSO OPERATION BRIDGE-BUILDING PROGRAM:

This annual REN Education Program needs an annual sponsorship of $35,000. We are actively seeking sponsors/partners.

This is the MSO's major education initiative. This program is designed to both enhance the K-5 Classroom courses for our local school districts as well as music education in our schools by engaging the students and teachers alike in high quality performing arts programming and arts integrated curricula.

The MSO "Operation Bridge-Building" Program strives to "bridge" music and academic learning to fully engage students and achieve higher learning in the classroom. We served over 8,000 students during the 2011-2012 school year through in-school chamber music performances and educational symphony concerts at the Renaissance Theatre.

Other program components include professional development for teachers as well as integrating music with academic subjects.

*THE KENNEDY CENTER PARTNERS IN EDUCATION PROGRAM:

The Renaissance is partnering with the Mansfield City Schools and the Mansfield Arts Center to bring arts integrated teaching to local K-12 students through their Kennedy Center Partnership in Education Program. The Renaissance is one of only four theaters in the State of Ohio to be affiliated with the Kennedy Center.

Arts integration is an approach to teaching in which students engage in a creative process that connects an art form such as dancing or singing with another subject area such as math or reading. Since not all students learn in the same way, the arts integration approach reaches students despite these differences - whether a child learns best by talking, seeing, singing, or writing, arts integration accommodates many diverse learning styles in one classroom.

The Kennedy Center Partnership Program offers a wealth of resources to the Mansfield teachers, who will now have access to a variety of local, state, and national teaching artists in their own classrooms. A series of professional development workshops throughout the coming years will help teachers learn how to seamlessly integrate arts activities into their lesson plans to not only help students be more engaged in school but also retain information better and achieve their greatest learning potential.

We are actively seeking funding partners/sponsors to enable the REN to continue to offer this great partnership program to the Mansfield City School students and teachers. We are seeking a $10,000 sponsorship. Partners/sponsors will receive all of the Ren's Friends' Annual Gifts Benefits for their level of giving as well as recognition on the Renaissance Annual Donor Recognition Board in the lobby.

*THE ONGOING PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CHILDREN'S THEATRE FOUNDATION (CTF):

The Renaissance has an ongoing partnership with the Children's Theatre Foundation to bring quality national touring performing arts children's programming to the Renaissance for school children of all ages including the possibility of presenting some of the quality shows produced by the Kennedy Center.

We provide the Renaissance to CTF for their performances. We are seeking a $10,000 sponsor for these shows and are seeking grants for these presentations as well as funds to provide fuel for the various school buses that are not able to bring their students to the Renaissance because of budget.

*THE REN'S TEDDY BEAR CONCERT SERIES:

Each season the Renaissance offers the Teddy Bear Concert Series for young children who come to the Renaissance with their families. In 2012-2013 Season the Renaissance is offering three Teddy Bear concerts:

  • Teddy Bear Concert #1 - The Science of Sound - Sunday October 14, 2012
  • Teddy Bear Concert #2 - Carnival of Animals - Sunday February 13, 2013
  • Teddy Bear Concert #3 - The Three Little Pigs vs. The Three Little Wolves - Sunday March 24, 2013

We are actively seeking $2,500 partners/sponsors for these performances.

*THE MANSFIELD SYMPHONY YOUTH ORCHESTRA AND MANSFIELD SYMPHONY YOUTH STRINGS:

The Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra (MSYO) and Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings (MSYS) were first organized in 1982. The Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra is comprised of over one hundred student musicians primarily from grades 9-12 representing schools across twelve counties. The Youth Strings program is open to area students in grades 6-10. We are seeking a partner/sponsor of $10,000 for the support of these children.

*THE MSYO's LOLLIPOP CONCERTS:

Each year the Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra performs free concerts at local area schools. Students try their hand at conducting and get a chance to get an up close and personal look at the different instruments. We are seeking a $1,000 sponsor/partner for this series.

*THE REN'S IMPROV UNDERGROUND:

The Renaissance offers an improv program for middle and high school students which offer an outlet for their creativity and an opportunity to develop their stage presence. Students are taught to think on their feet, build confidence, and develop communication skills along the way through group and individual improvisation exercise. We are seeking a $1,000 partner/sponsor for this program.

*THE RENAISSANCE YOUTH OPERA THEATRE (RYOT):

The Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre (RYOT) gives students in grades 2-12 the opportunity to act, dance, sing, assist with lighting, create costumes, props and build sets. RYOT embraces a child's curiosity and gives the students the chance to explore the theatre. Under the direction of Lori Turner, the students interact and learn from professional stage directors, choreographers, designers, and technicians. The program is free of charge. Two performances are scheduled each year. We are seeking a $5,000 partner/sponsor for this series.

*THE MINDSPROUTS CREATIVE WRITING CONTEST:

A new writing competition for Richland County students K-12. As part of the program, Richland County teachers have an opportunity for a visit from Renaissance teaching artist, Dauphne Maloney to jump start the creative process. Then students continue to work on their own to create an original composition in one or more of the following categories: short stories, poem, or play. The top submissions in each category will be adapted for the stage and showcased at the Renaissance Theatre. It is free for the children. We are seeking a $1,000 sponsor for this program.

*THE MID WEST INTERNATIONAL YOUTH SILENT FILM FESTIVAL:

Beginning in 2013 the Renaissance will become the Mid West Regional International Youth Silent Film Festival franchise covering six states (Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, & Pennsylvania) where students twenty years and younger from these states will create their own three minute silent film to pre-recorded theatre organ music for each type of film created by internationally known theatre organist and composer, Nathan Awakin. Each state will then determine their winners and submit them to the Mid West Regional competition at the Renaissance and up to forty-five will be selected to be presented at the Renaissance during the weekend of April 5-7, 2013, when the films will be shown and accompanied by the live organ music of Nathan Awakin. Hollywood artists and producers will be involved in judging the finalists. The top three films will then compete in the International Youth Silent Film Festival in Portland, Oregon for cash prizes and trophies. This festival is supported in part by the Mansfield Richland County Convention & Visitors Bureau. We are seeking a $10,000 partner/sponsor for this three day international festival.

*POSSIBLE PUBLIC TELEVISION BROADCASTING OF REN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS:

We will begin the exploration and discussion of the possibilities of regional and/or statewide broadcasting of some or all of the REN's Educational Programs i.e. MSO's Operation Bridge-Building, Children's Theatre Foundation/REN children's educational series, Kennedy Center Partnership programs, etc. via public television broadcasting into the region and/or statewide schools with study guides and the opportunities for questions for the artist(s) performing from the students/teachers attending the performances at the REN as well as from the students/teachers throughout the region/state watching the performances via public television broadcasting into the schools.

With cost of fuel and lack of funding schools have cut back or cancelled these arts opportunities. Now it is our responsibility to take it to the schools to keep art an integral part of education system. There are sponsorship opportunities for the program. More as we explore.

*THE REN'S ORGAN CONCERTS/CLASSIC FILM SERIES:

The Renaissancepresents an organ concert/classic films series once each month from July through September 2012 and the special Holiday Concert in December which is free to the community. Known organist perform and some of the best classic films are presented. We are seeking a $5,000 partners/sponsors for this series.

*AN ANNUAL NORTH CENTRAL OHIO ARTS/CULTURE TELETHON:

We will begin the exploration and discussion of the possibility of an annual North Central Ohio Arts/Culture Telethon here in Mansfield to support all of the arts/culture organizations working through the Richland Community Development Group's Arts & Culture Sector. This annual telethon would be held in the Ren with local/regional/national entertainment, 800 number phone bank, etc. There will be sponsorship opportunities for this annual

*THE REN'S MATCHING GIFTS PROGRAM:

Friends can increase their gift to the Renaissance by participating in a  Matching Gift Program. Their Ren's Friends Annual Gifts Benefits will increase to acknowledge the combined amount while providing the maximum amount of support for the Renaissance. To have your gift matched, please ask your company's human resource, personnel or public affairs office for instructions or for more information call the Renaissance Development Office at 419-522-2726, Ext. 211. The donor will receive all of the Ren's Friends Annual Gifts Benefits for the level.

*THE REN'S IN-KIND GIFTS PROGRAM:

A donor/sponsor may give an in-kind gift of goods and/or services to the Renaissance which meet the needs of the Ren and receive retail credit for the gift by providing the Renaissance with the cost of the service or product donated at fair market value. The donor/sponsor will receive the Ren's Friends' Annual Gifts Benefits for that gift level. These in-kind gifts save the Renaissance money and are valuable to the Ren.

*The REN'S "WISH LIST" GIFT PROGRAM:

The staff of the Renaissance always have products and services that they need to improve the services, equipment, and programs of the Renaissance which their budgets will not cover. We have created a new Ren "Wish List" Gift Program to seek these in-kind gifts of products and services. This list is updated monthly on the Renaissance website as well as in printed form. The donors receive the full retail value credit for their gift as well as all of the Ren's Friends' Annual Gifts Benefits for that gift level.

*THE REN'S USED CAR, TRUCK, TRAILER, BOAT, ETC. GIFT PROGRAM:

We have established a Renaissance Used Car, Truck, Boat, Trailer, etc, Gift Program where donors can give their used cars, trucks, boats, trailers, etc. to the Renaissance and get the fair market value of the gift and receive the Ren's Friends' Annual Gifts Benefits for that gift level. *THE REN'S COMMEMORATIVE GIFT NAMING OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAM:

The Renaissance has many gift naming opportunities. Your name, the name of a loved one, your business, etc. will be placed on an office, elevator, seat, etc, as well as the Renaissance Donor Recognition Board in the lobby of the Renaissance Theatre for your gift to live in perpetuity. You will receive an engraved name plate on the back of a sponsored seat in the theatre as well as permanent recognition on the Ren's Donor Recognition Board in the lobby. You will also receive the Ren's Friends' Annual Gifts Benefits for your level of giving and the benefit of Lifetime Support Group membership in "S.E.A.T.S. — Supporting Education, Arts, Theatre, and Symphony."

All funds from this campaign will be used to:

  • Develop education programs that offer vigorous training in the arts for young people/teachers.
  • Maintain our affordability for our local area patrons.
  • Create original programs and shows that premiere at the Renaissance and tour the nation.
  • Maintain a state-of-the-art facility for all to enjoy.
  • Sustainability.

 

Our goal is to create a minimum of $1,000,000 plus by selling all of the remaining seats.

*THE REN PATRON/FRIENDS' SERVICES SPONSOR OPPORTUNITIES:

There are several Patron/Friends Services sponsor opportunities. These include but are not limited to:

  • The new Friends' Reward Card - the Renaissance needs a sponsor for cards and system. - $5,000

The Ren's goal is to create a minimum of $1,000,000 plus Endowment Fund. This funding will enable us to:

  • Create original Off-Broadway shows and Neos Dance Theatre programming that will premiere at the Renaissance Theatre and tour the nation and the world.
