Mansfield has a rich history of great choral singing dating back more than a century. In the 1960's, under the leadership of Robert Cronquist, the orchestra began to use some of those local choral groups in concerts. In 1977, a Symphony Chorus was formally established as a permanent part of the Mansfield Symphony Society with Calvin Y. Rogers of Ashland College as Choral Director. Each year the orchestra presents a number of programs incorporating the Symphony Chorus, including a Christmas Pops concert that showcases the talented ensemble. Selected members of the chorus also perform as needed for solo and chorus parts in operas, musicals, and other Renaissance shows. Thanks to the many years of service under Dr. Richard Wink, the Chorus has continued to thrive. The 2007-08 season introduced a new Choral Director, Deb Logan, who continues to lead the Chorus to even greater success.
